ARRI T24 Tungsten Fresnel
It takes a big light to fill our 18’000 sq, ft. stages, which is why we now offer the ARRI T24 Tungsten Fresnel light – the largest Tungsten Fresnel available.
Using a 24’000W bulb rated for 240V, the T24 draws 100A per leg, which is why we include as standard with the pkg. the new RatPack 125A DMX compatible stand-alone dimmer. Where the current drawn by the 24kw lamp is right at the threshold of the 100A Breaker and 100A/250V Bates receptacle of traditional dimmers, the 125A Breaker and locking 400A rated CamLok connectors of our RatPack dimmer assures trouble free operation of the light even under the harshest production conditions.
Where single-phase 240V power is not available, we can provide a 20’000W bulb rated for 208V three-phase. The effect of reduced voltage can be dramatic on tungsten lights because their output falls off geometrically as voltage decreases. For example a 24k lamp operating at 90% rated voltage (216V) produces about 68% of its normal light output, or the equivalent of a 16’320W lamp. Which means that a 20’000W bulb rated for 208V and operated at the 208V of three-phase power will have a greater output than a 24’000W bulb rated at 240V and under powered at 208V (same is true of a 20’000W bulb rated at 220V.)
Reduced output is not the only consequence of operating a tungsten bulb at less than its’ rated voltage, as the light intensity decreases, so does the Kelvin color temperature of the emitted light. Not only will our 208V 20’000W bulb operated on 208V three-phase power be brighter than a 20kw bulb rated for 220V, or even a 24kw rated at 240V, its’ color temperature will be more accurate as well.
